Planting the gospel in the heart of Argentina
Scott & Stacie Maness and their children are independent Missionary Baptist missionaries starting New Testament churches where the American Baptist Association had no work — sent out in faith from a small church in East Texas.
Our calling
A family sent to a nation that needs the gospel
There is a great need for the gospel in Argentina, and no other ABA works were there when God laid this nation on our hearts. During a survey trip in 2014, open door after open door confirmed the call. In 2016 Nevill’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church became our sending church, and on April 27, 2018 we arrived on the field in Córdoba.
Our first-term goals are simple and hard: learn the language, love the culture, make disciples, and see churches planted in every city of Argentina. Every month we share honest reports of that work — the joys, the setbacks, and the answered prayers.

The work
Discipleship, one relationship at a time
Ministry here looks like weekly Bible studies over coffee, teaching children in Spanish, ladies’ meetings, music, and long conversations about God’s simple plan of salvation. It is slow, relational, prayerful work — and it is bearing fruit.
